Our History
Originally founded as the West Tampa Commercial Club by Angel Cuesta of Cuesta Rey Cigar in 1918, the West Tampa Chamber of Commerce has served as a primary force in the growth of Hillsborough County businesses and neighborhood enhancement. Throughout its 100 years, the Chamber's accomplishments include helping establish the West Tampa Community Redevelopment Area in 2015. The organization is also well-known for hosting events that have helped preserve West Tampa's heritage and environment, such as the West Tampa Clean Up Day at Macfarlane Park, West Tampa Citizen of the year award and the Flavor of West Tampa
Beginning in 2021, the West Tampa Chamber is initiating an effort to share West Tampa’s history with members.
